Positioning Dorsal recumbency Extend forelimbs cranially Support under the pelvic limbs with pads or sandbags Ensure no rotation Centre in midline midway over thorax Collimate to include thoracic inlet to diaphragm Expose on full inspiration Ensure L/R marker in primary beam. What to look for Sternum and spine should be superimposed Good inspiration is vital. Top tips If using a cradle try to ensure this is not under the thorax.
